Hey,
I go by the handle @borninvestor on Twitter. I’ve been investing and trading the stock market since late 2019. This is a blog that focuses on my journey as a Trader, investor and the ultimate goal of financial freedom.
My Story so Far
I started off, like most others, dabbling here and there. During the Covid Crash I became engrossed by the stock market. It felt like a fascinating time to be involved. I did the whole growth investing thing in 20/21 whilst also learning to trade.
By late 2021 I realised that I wasn't a market wizard and in fact was participating in the Covid Bubble. I sold everything in my portfolio (which had already taken a massive beating from the highs) and set about regrouping with focus in 2022.
I knuckled down and began genuinely studying to find my place in the Stock Market. I got interested in everything all over again. A full reset. Forget everything you thought you knew.
Trading has always appealed to me and particularly after my foray into growth investing I found that the drawdowns simply didn’t suit me. A risk first approach is more suited to my style.
What is the Goal?
It’s all a work in progress, like everything stock market related, but I am aiming toward becoming a professional trader in the coming years whilst living a fulfilling life with my family. I have a lot to achieve before that is a reality and I am realistic that it will take years. I am lucky to have a business that allows me the time to pursue this goal coupled with a lifestyle and financial situation that is conducive to having the space to grow as a trader (No Leased Lambos!).
What to Expect from this Blog
In a word….nothing.
I will only post articles and thoughts in this blog that I feel are helpful in a somewhat timeless way. I’m not interested in posting daily setups or current market ideas that will be out of date within a week. I post that stuff on Twitter on a daily basis. Here I will try to outline my thinking, how I am growing as a person and a trader. The mistakes I’ve made and the challenges I’ve overcome.
It is my hope that my experience will prove useful to those looking to walk down a similar path.
The blog is free, as I have nothing worth charging for, though I may include some referral links every so often if it is in context with what I am writing about or mention a product or service. This will be obvious and clearly articulated.
